The room had a cigarette smell, we asked for a non-smoking room, it was difficult to sleep peacefully with that smell

At the time of my reservation, I had asked that I keep the room a little later than the time scheduled for the delivery of the room, since my return flight was scheduled for 11:30 p.m. At 12 p.m. precisely, a hotel employee came knocking on the door of my room to ask me to leave the premises because he needed to clean the room, I explained in my broken English, because no one spoke French, and didn't want to make an effort to understand my situation. On the 1st day I arrived at the hotel at 9.45pm, so I thought that could have compensated for my arrival time. I asked to pay an extra night to be able to keep the room at least until 7 p.m., I had to pay $178, I also asked for a discount which was refused. For the number of years that I travel and that I frequent hotels, it is the first time, that I meet this kind of situation, that there is no heat, no commercial gesture, I had the impression to deal with machines. It is a very very average hotel in terms of value for money, we could close our eyes to certain shortcomings if the rest followed. It was and will be the first and last time I return to this place.
