We were left with uncertain feelings. The hotel is not bad, the location is great, the beach is great, but the whole experience was spoiled by the hotel staff and the manager, who does not know how to manage this place.
Firstly, from the ocean-view room, for which we paid extra, only the pool is visible. There is no ocean to speak of. Palm trees and a pool - that's the whole ocean view for you. Secondly, during the 10 days we were there, our room was cleaned 2 times. Towels were changed with the same frequency. But even clean towels had a very unpleasant smell. After this place, I have an injury associated with towels. After cleaning, they left us 1 towel for two and I went downstairs to ask for a second one, but the hotel manager replied that he was busy to quarrel with me, so he had mercy and gave me a second (!!!!) towel in silence. And the "clean" bed linen had yellow stains. The deluxe room did not have a fridge, we had to ask permission each time to leave fruit in the fridge at the beach cafe. But at the same time, every time we opened it to take something of our own, they did not take their eyes off us, and sometimes they ran after us to check if we had stolen an egg or a banana (there was nothing more to steal there). The air conditioning blows straight to the head and we took turns getting sick. The bathroom is very strange, the floor is flat and the water does not escape. Wet always! This is not my first time in Sri Lanka, for such a price you can find much better accommodation.
Spacious room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Good bed and mattress. The hotel is very conveniently located - close to the center with shops and cafes and, at the same time, away from the noise. The turtle beach is approximately 1.5 km from the hotel. The hotel has a very nice friendly manager who helped us in all matters. his wife cooked delicious breakfasts for us :)
one day the water was turned off, but this problem was quickly resolved.
A tanned hotel is like two in one. A dozen are still in the building perpendicular to the sea and exactly 9 - with a straight line beautiful view. We were lucky enough to visit the second part and also the top floor from the south, I was lovely. Beautiful panoramic views of the ocean, lush flora and fauna (monkeys, big bats, peacocks, etc. are almost at your fingertips) starry sky every night, the sound of the sea ... The room was very large and with a sloping roof. Beautiful terracotta tiles in the room and bathroom, good air conditioning, spacious terrace with armchairs and a table. Comfortable bed, functional furniture. The staff are helpful and efficient, they provided us with a brew set at our request Coffee / tea I cleaned the room. The place outside is busy and noisy center of Hikkaduwa, lovely beach, lovely pool that we had ourselves, comfortable sunbeds for free, well-kept garden.
Weak internet and internet coverage from Dialog.
We had 4 clean rooms of very different sizes on the ground floor for one night. 4 rooms with balcony booked. The complex is in order, the beach is wide and calm. There are enough sun loungers, even in the garden. Unfortunately, the waves are very high. For swimming, you can walk about 800 meters to the right. You can even swim on the breakwaters here. We were able to keep our rooms until we left after 15:00. So we were able to calmly pack and take a shower before leaving for the airport.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, clean and spacious. There is also a wardrobe, table and hanger. The hotel itself and the outdoor area are very good, but unfortunately there is not much here. We would like to eat there in the afternoon. Breakfast is good. There are several shops and supermarkets nearby. The beach is perfect. And there were always umbrellas and pillows for sun loungers.
Unfortunately the WiFi connection mostly only worked in front of the office.
