Very nice country house with three bedrooms, large patio where you can sit even when it's very hot, there is also a terrace on the ground floor where you can sunbathe if you want. Sencelles is a beautiful village in the interior of the island with very nice people, 3-4 great restaurants, there is a small supermarket 150 meters away that offers everything you need. The little gifts we found at the front desk were nice too (noodles, delicious pasta sauce, fresh oranges, which I don't think you can buy in Germany). Handing over the keys was a breeze through the small key safe next to the door. The beds had very good mattresses, which I always consider one of the most important things in a holiday home, along with a clean and functioning bathroom. The main bathroom on the ground floor was recently refurbished and there was another small bathroom with a shower on the first floor. There were several air conditioners in rooms throughout the house, which made the nights more bearable (it was very hot in Mallorca at the time). The kitchen is very basic but we found everything we needed and if it wasn't clean enough for us we rinsed it again. House administration was handled by Homerty, which was sometimes not very easy, many emails, some of which I should have received, did not reach ... but in general everything was in order, fast response times to emails and even German-speaking support. In the end, everything worked out, the deposit was returned (albeit in two stages due to an accounting error, but I don’t assume that this was intentional)
At first the house seemed a little musty, but this often happens with old houses, you get used to it very quickly and you don’t notice it anymore. Maybe you shouldn't be allergic to dust, there are a lot of personal decorative items in the house, probably the owner, so in general this house is probably not so easy to keep clean, we didn't really care and the house seemed to live because of it ;- ). The house probably had enough caretaker for a few days, many little things didn't work properly, broken light bulbs, jammed doors, the TV connection mostly didn't work (but who goes to Mallorca to watch TV?). We were overwhelmed with garbage collection, there is separate garbage collection, but nowhere is it specifically indicated on which day in which bags to put garbage in front of the door. We ended up packing everything up and throwing it in the bin at the airport so as not to jeopardize our security deposit. No parking in front of the door but that wasn't a problem either, there are plenty of free parking spaces a few hundred meters away.
This is an old house that has been properly restored and with a little dedication it will have many more options. The location in the center of the island makes it accessible from anywhere. It breathes with tranquility and the available spaces are wide. WIFI service is working correctly.
The first thing that surprises at the entrance to the house is the deep smell of "antiquity" characteristic of closed rooms. There are no direct deals with the owner. This makes it difficult to resolve issues because HOMERTI's phone, which we assume is the farm administrator, does not answer calls and email notifications via the booking page are slow to process and receive a response. We reported a hot water malfunction and it was not repaired in a full week of stay. There were about three or four burned-out bulbs. I had to tune in to the TV channels because everything was out of order. Had to repair one of the curtains in one of the rooms upstairs. An overabundance of furniture and items that are useless for residents, since almost all cabinets store the personal belongings of the owners. This situation is especially inconvenient because you feel like an intruder navigating through other people's belongings. The house has no parking, it is located in a dead end, which makes it difficult to load and unload the vehicle. The city does not offer public or private parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the house. Parking is difficult. The cleanliness of the kitchen left much to be desired. In fact, in order to use the dishwasher, we had to clean and wash it. The deplorable state of the hob and microwave is not worth commenting on. In short, the home offers many possibilities, but we would advise the owner or the company that manages the property to devote more resources to the maintenance of the home and to be careful with the cleaning that has to be done between each client.
