Historic Madeira hotel set in an incredible location on the edge of the sea. Huge spaces both inside and out, attentive and cordial staff, luxury services. a true "Experience".
The food certainly doesn't live up to the hotel. 1st breakfast good, but the average buffet. Being so large and spread over 9 floors, I would have liked a few more signposts.
The breakfast not as good as at the cupola in its time. Location good.
Dinner could have been much better
Great hotel in a good spot by the sea. Lovely heated outdoor pool. Excellent breakfast. Atmospheric spacious room and balcony on the sun.

Day 31, lack of raisins and champagne in the room, and also the headbands and hats, typical on New Year's Eve. However, it could be misinformation on my part. In the previous year we were contemplated with all this and much more at the Savoy Palace..
