Price-performance ratio! €270 for a small room with 1980s decor. three stars for a five star plus price . we have had wonderful hotels in Madeira with well equipped rooms, fantastic views, great comfort, which cost about half as much. It feels like you're paying for the garden and not the room.
The beautiful garden, the tranquility, the friendly and professional service.... the whole atmosphere - the combination of tradition and modernity - is an experience! We used the bar, pool, restaurant and library, also booked a massage. Everything was fine.
The hotel building with the rooms is showing its age, the rooms seem a bit "run" here and there and deserve a thorough modernization in the next few years.
