Wonderfully quiet with many trees and therefore cool as well as many birds. Nice people, helpful. Although it is a bit further from the center, it is manageable with a collection taxi and motorcycle taxi and I am 70 years old
The staff was friendly and helpful. Except for the roosters that woke us up every morning, it was heavenly peace.
Breakfast was below average = barely edible. Breakfast was not included in the single room, only breakfast in the double room. It is best to stock up on groceries on your own, but there are no shops or restaurants nearby. The food offered in their own restaurant was extremely modest: only rice or fried potatoes with vegetables, but the portions were plentiful and the taste was decent. The advertised crocodile park no longer exists. At least one plumbing item in each room was out of order; there was no hot shower, flush toilet, leaky toilet. However, after two days, everything was temporarily fixed (with two rolls of duct tape) except for the shower.
Overall a good establishment. This is a youth hostel away from Kisumu (about twenty minutes by taxi / boda), in a quiet countryside, in the hills. The place is quiet, food and equipment are basic but good. A backpacker for less demanding travelers, recommended for those looking to get off the beaten track.
