We were looking for a place to stay from where we could visit the great battlefields of the 1st World War with our family. When we found the 'sources de beauvoir' residence in Grancourt, we were suspicious. This was too good to be true. But what we found left us speechless. Paradise exists .... and a part of it is in Grancourt. We arrived at a vast natural estate with several extensive ponds, forests and a beautiful, carefully landscaped and very well maintained garden. We were welcomed by the very friendly and sympathetic owners. The owners bought an estate with a house 4 years ago. They built a 3 bedroom house with bathroom where they stayed while the main house was being renovated. This house is now rented out as a holiday home. The entire house is super hygienic and very stylish and tastefully decorated. The hostess is particularly passionate about restoring old furniture. And her eye for detail is exquisite. Every comfort is provided. The things I had forgotten, such as salt, pepper, coffee, coffee filters, oil were all provided. The house overlooks the garden, which is completely at your disposal. You feel alone in the world. Except for the birds, ducks and geese. The estate is so vast, the view you have is PHENOMENAL. Just like a postcard you're in the middle of. You are barely 5 km from all major sites of WWI. (The hostess will be happy to provide you with all the info and maps you need to visit). It is so BEAUTIFULLY quiet and beautiful. Highly recommended to enjoy your free time.
What disappointed us most of all was the fact that we only stayed there for 4 days. WAY TOO SHORT !!! Have to return to civilization.
nature and environment. Nice bathroom.
It seems that you are booking a cottage alone with nature. This is not the case, on the other side of the house is the closet of the house, so there is little privacy. Noise from trains, the railway runs along the garden.
The holiday home is located in a small paradise by the lake (no mosquitoes!). It's amazingly quiet and in an idyllic setting. The hosts are very, very nice and helpful. The location for visiting the monuments and battlefields of the First World War is optimal, only a few kilometers in all directions. Alberta, about 10 km away, has all the shops and a museum worth seeing. Amiens is 40 km away. We have already booked for next year.
Very good welcome! We were expected.... Special place, off the beaten path, very nice house, spotlessly clean, good beds. Enough towels and fresh clean linens! Beautiful surroundings, a lake in front of the door with geese and other animals: bunnies will fly in!
