location and facilities a bit old
noises and small
the calm, the shower was hot, drinks available
the very old, austere decoration.
it was quite warm for how cold it was outside
It seems very expensive to me for how the facilities were, it is much older than the photos seem, And the breakfast is quite poor.
the location was nice.
two people and one water, average breakfast rather poor, price quite high for the standard, no duvet, only a pillowcase and it's cold in the mountains.
Well located and cozy
The very soft beds, a lot of noise in the room, when the taps in the nearby rooms were opened you could hear everything, the television next door could be heard as if it were in the room, very poorly soundproofed and makes it difficult to sleep...
the restaurant. delicious dishes!!
the pool was closed. booked this hotel through the site because it has a swimming pool. if you have booked and you can no longer cancel, it appears that the swimming pool is closed. misleading and very unfortunate. it was 27 degrees!
The restaurant attached to it and the breakfast
Swimming pool not open while this is part of the facilities, no air conditioning, wad broken, very small shower, where you really could not turn around without bumping into something
The location, the price, the private parking, the tranquility...
The wifi could be greatly improved and the bed would need to renew the mattresses.
Fantastic location and dinner. Dinner, very varied (different options to choose from) and very well prepared menu. The person (girl) who received us is very friendly. Breakfast sufficient, considering the price-quality ratio.
There is a lot of noise from room to room. Luckily, everyone went to bed early that night. I suggest that the pillows are not so "thick".
location, personal family and quiet, fantastic (evening) food
Breakfast and great location
The mattress was very old and uncomfortable and the rooms were not soundproofed, you could hear everything other hotel guests were saying.
The location is wonderful. And an outdoor area where you can dine in complete privacy.
Good location next to the Parador. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Good breakfast. Exceptional sunset views. The presence of a swimming pool. Keep in mind: when we went to El Refugio, there was no possibility to have dinner there, and other nearby establishments were closed. We decided this at the Parador Nacional bar, right in front of the entrance.
just a place to watch the sunset and the stars
the room is too expensive for what we got
Small but comfortable hotel, excellent location, very welcoming and well maintained common areas and gardens. The pool becomes a place to relax, especially in the late hours. The owner, Ivan, is very attentive to everything that was offered to you. Nothing was missing from the rooms, bath towels, pool towels, gels and a comfortable and spacious bathroom. I was struck by the proximity to farmland and the proximity of farm animals such as chickens and roosters. Proximity to food stalls and traditional goods that characterize the area is another positive aspect of this hotel. On the other hand, the hotel has a place with a small library where you can sit and make your own coffee. It also has a shared fridge where you can leave your drinks and/or perishables. Many thanks to Ivan for your kindness. We will return without a doubt! To your health
Connection
nothing from the hotel fatal room fatal maintenance poor cleaning overall very bad Lacks good reform
The location is fantastic, perfect for hiking and right in the center of the island. The staff is very welcoming, we got a good beer by the pool and they were very helpful.
Unfortunately the breakfast was very poor for the price, it was covered in the morning and not looked after very well. Rotten milk in a jug, stale bread; really not recommended. In addition, the building is somewhat dilapidated, this is not a problem, but a number of things are broken.
Very quiet hotel located in the center of the island. Ideal to unwind and spend a few days in nature.
The rooms are not soundproofed and you can hear everything that happens in the corridor and from the doors of other rooms.
Place, place, place Cruz de Tejeda is the ideal starting point for hiking, it is already breathtaking, the air is clean and pleasant. Recommended breakfast Rustic hotel with flair, very comfortable lounge
The room was a little cramped, not the promised 18m2, the ceilings were on the verge of freezing Otherwise good
LOCATION AND UNBEATABLE LOCATION BECAUSE IT IS IN A COMPLETELY NATURAL LOCATION
THE EQUIPMENT IS MANY YEARS old AND IS NOTICED IN SOME ROOMS
An ideal base from which to explore this magnificent region
Value for money, too expensive to serve Full breakfast, but only industrial products Basic and outdated room equipment No blankets and indoor heating No catering in the evening, except for the Parador Brasserie.
In the middle of a great location, an authentic mountain hotel (atmosphere, furniture, fireplace) with a cozy restaurant and bar next door, but only open during the day (during our visit in April). Very good house. Please note that the pool is much smaller than in the photo.
Just a very thin duvet for the bed when the temperature was very low for this April. Lack of comfort in bed.
Location (great!), friendly staff, good shower and tea/coffee facilities.
Too hard mattress.
The staff is very nice and full of good advice. The surroundings are great. The all you can eat breakfast is very good and varied. The pilgrimage atmosphere gives this place an extra soul.
Nothing
Absolutely fantastic location and a good starting point for hiking in the area.
reach
This is a small rural hotel that lives up to its mission, conveniently located for use as a stepping stone to the Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria. The beds were comfortable. Very rich breakfast too.
The furniture, very old-fashioned, would benefit greatly if it were decorated differently, as it is very cozy.
The location is spectacular and the views are amazing. The rooms are comfortable and warm and the girls who cleaned are very nice, always saying hello and smiling.
The breakfast could have been taken care of a little more, for example with the pastry of the day instead of the packaged one. The girl who greeted us on arrival was a bit harsh, constantly saying that check-in is at 3pm, although we insisted we wanted to leave our bags and go spend the day outside, she was too pushy.
New heater and location
not enough wi-fi
Position
Few services, reception closed at 7pm, there was no bar, and the service at the corner cafe was dirty and with little explanation on how to use the machines.
Very good breakfast in pleasant surroundings. The location of the hotel is magnificent at the top of Gran Canaria
That the room was not heated on arrival
Simple but decent breakfast Wool blanket in the closet, something that was absolutely necessary Heater in the room Retained the original style 😃
It was very cold in the room when we arrived.🥶 Deceive gradually with a heater.
A good starting point for various hikes. Charming hotel in the mountains of Gran Canaria. Rooms were good for sleeping, wardrobe with hanger. Breakfast buffet was ok too. Living room with fireplace and "library" additional blankets that provide warmth, including electric heating
There was no heater in the bathroom. Since it was cold in January, it wasn't completely dry after showering and the towels were still damp the next morning.
LOCATION AND BREAKFAST
VERY SOFT BEDS
Good location because at the beginning of the steps Rich and varied breakfast
Price a bit high Unsmiling welcome
location and reception, coffee and tea buffet 24/24
Shower curtain too short: bathroom flooding
Breakfast selection was ok.
Sitting in the breakfast room in a winter coat is not the most pleasant way to have breakfast.
An ideal base for hiking in the mountainous heart of Gran Canaria.
Hiking Information
Location, tranquility and amenities
We liked everything. Offer a dinner service as a suggestion, even if it's a small and simple buffet.
In the middle of the mountain
Too isolated, take a car to dine in Tejeda, there is nothing in Cruz de Tejeda.
Beautiful country hotel right on the Cruz de Tejeda. Directly opposite the more expensive Parador. These two hotels are also the only places where you can stay right on Cruz de Tejeda. Our room was functional with good beds and a bathroom. There is a nice lounge with a fireplace. There is also a shared fridge and kettle. There is also a selection of tea, coffee and water. There is an adequate breakfast buffet. Check-in and check-out is seamless and hassle-free. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. You can dine in the restaurants on the street (however they close around 18:00 and the kitchen closes around 16:45). Later you can only eat at the Parador Restaurant. The hotel itself does not have a restaurant.
The location on the Cruz de Tejeda pass is very beautiful. Very beautiful furniture, a beautiful reading room where you can light a fireplace. The breakfast was ok if not too much
Everything seemed a little "sleeping" with a few lonely guests. It was annoying that the restaurant was closed in the evenings, on the contrary there was only (expensive) Parador
spacious rooms
the restaurant is not open
What is the living room. warm welcome
In bad weather in November, it is very cold everywhere. Especially at breakfast. Very noisy. Small room
The room was spacious with a double bed and a single bed in a separate room. The room was cold in November plus there was an electric heater so it was ok.
Everything was very dark, dinner in the evening only until 19 o'clock in a rather expensive hotel. The reception area was already free.
The location and the friendliness of the staff.
Cleaning the bath and blankets. When carrying out work, it should be borne in mind that felling cannot begin at 08:00 in the morning or notify customers in advance. Overall, I'd say it's a bit rundown considering the price of the room. It is important to keep in mind that we find the restaurants in the area closed to be able to dine.
I liked the peace and quiet that is there, perfect for a trip
Connection
It does not include lunch/dinner (only breakfast). The surrounding restaurants close at 17-18 in winter. If you arrive later and you don't have transport, the only thing left is the parador or take a taxi to Tejeda.
The walking area and setting is the best the hotel has to offer.
The hotel has great potential, it is a pity that they do not know how to use it, the environment is beautiful and there is something to improve, there is simply not enough will. Noisy rooms, not very comfortable beds, my boy had breakfast and honestly there is room for improvement. It's expensive (€8) for what they offer: American coffee, sliced bread, jam, butter, and industrial baked goods. I hope that the owners polish the diamond in the rough form they have.
What we liked the most was the environment, the attitude of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. Near the hotel there are several restaurants and the Parador Nacional. Be aware that most of these restaurants close early, around 6:00 pm. Regarding the breakfast buffet at the hotel, please note that it is very good and good value for money. The hotel staff has always been very friendly.
I would improve the pool. The lawn was not looked after, there were no sun loungers and umbrellas. It would have been nice to have the pool heated as it was very cold and we had very hot days. As regards the furniture in the rooms, I would suggest an improvement as they have already fallen into disrepair.
Very good facilities, safe distance kept and they had hydro-alcoholic gel. Comfortable bed. We used this hotel to stay overnight on the Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria and it was a success. The pool was ice cold but also great for muscle recovery.
All was good. good price quality
Good attitude of the staff and calm atmosphere
The pool could be in a better condition
Calm environment
The breakfast was not the same as in my previous stay. I have seen him poorer. As for the less well-groomed garden area. Not being able to drink anything (we were told only canned beer) due to Covid doesn't seem reasonable to me. Using a cup for breakfast is like giving me a few glasses and a bottle of wine.
Location, breakfast and traditional Canarian view
Entry time and other room doors are audible
The cleanliness of the rooms, the impressive location, the tranquility, if there weren't so many smokers in the few rooms outside, I could enjoy the surroundings more and the attitude of the staff is good. The breakfast is also quite complete and good.
It's good that there was smoking in the stay areas, although outside there were common areas, terraces, a swimming pool ... both users and staff are there, smoking in common areas in the Canary Islands is prohibited. The use of masks inside the hotel had users not using them, tea area was COMMON, coffee as well as a fridge which also violates covid rules.
Welcome, clean room and even a small water heater will come in handy if it's cold!
It was not possible to have dinner in the structure.
The staff were very friendly, also spoke good English. Everything went smoothly with booking and check-in. The room was spacious with a small sofa and everything was clean. Everything you need was at the breakfast buffet.
The hotel is a bit old. The rooms are furnished in an old country style. The house and rooms are very soundproof. The mattress was hard.
Everything else is excellent. Good thermal insulation in the rooms.
The rooms and perhaps the common areas need updating.
Attention of staff and tranquility
The pool was not crowded and the shared fridge, like many rooms, needs to be a little bigger.
I like the location, customer service and "game room". It seems perfect to me, there is a wide selection of books to enjoy with complimentary tea or coffee.
A separate breakfast does not convince me, as hotels in the area and by custom are usually included. Another thing I didn't like was the indoor pool. I didn't see it in the description of the hotel.
I needed antiseptics and plasters to heal the blisters, but they were not available. In such a remote place, it seems to me an important disadvantage in relation to guests
Pretty good breakfast
Staff, location, salon.
Even though it is a rural area, it may need a bit more maintenance.
I really liked the attitude of the two people who received me, the people who were at the front desk and checked me in, they were very nice and attentive.
I think the value for money is not right. The price seemed too high for this type of accommodation (the room was not very spacious, there was nothing special in it, the pool did not work, ... I expected better conditions considering the price. I have been in cheaper hotels and with better facilities. . About Wifi can not say anything, did not use.
Tranquility and tranquility, which convey the hotel and its surrounding nature.
Perhaps a reform is needed to update the equipment and in particular the rooms.
I really liked the stylish furniture and the attention to detail. Both in the room and in the breakfast room. Celebrating Christmas in such an atmosphere was something special!
There was no information about possible bus connections.
The tranquility of this place, if you want to switch off, this is your place.
We were given 3 rooms as we were going as a family. And my bed was really comfortable, but the others were older. But everything was clean and comfortable. It has a small room with very nice tea and coffee. Beautiful place in a unique location.
The staff is a bit dry. When we arrived in the afternoon they were filming something and they didn't let us into the common area and they looked at us badly if we left the room we had to stay in the room until they were done... Well I didn't love this detail with kids.
The staff, the location and the charm of the site
Any
The location and tranquility of the site, as well as the friendly attitude of the staff.
Attention of the hotel manager, accommodation also for animals, garden areas
Considering this is our 4th stay at the hotel, regarding this: Lactose free milk they do not have Excessive noise during rest hours Outdoor billiards (cannot be used in inclement weather when you cannot leave the hotel = there are not many other activities in the hotel) Natural temperature water (apparently they will decide soon with another thermos / tank) It was cold in the dining room during breakfast
calmness
Upon arrival, the receptionist gave us a rather gloomy and small room. Since I knew the hotel I asked for another one and at first he told us that the other one was already taken. Luckily a colleague who was there visited us and assigned us the requested room. Very grateful to this Mr. and very bad receptionist, who, having the best opportunity, would like to make us the worst offer. Another complaint is that we paid 20 euros more to bring a puppy and the cleaning service didn't clean the room for us. We left that morning around 12 and when we returned in the afternoon it was done.
Location good breakfast good
Rooms without terrace
Situation.
Expensive breakfast for what is on offer.
Provide extra blanket in November, very cold and dark room.
The room was basic. The bed is very comfortable and very quiet at night.
I think the pool needs some updating. We didn't have breakfast as it was too expensive.
The location is good, there is parking inside the hotel.
The room needs a refrigerator, cleanliness can be improved, there are a lot of pine needles on the terrace and if you don’t like to drink something. I recommend it for the weekend, like me.
Friendliness to employees
There are no restaurants in the area for dinner
The breakfast could be improved a bit.
Very good location. The hotel has several rooms to sit with friends. Having a garden and pool is a delight.
Covid-19 management. Staff must always wear a mask. Breakfast cannot be a buffet and utensils can be shared. Grain diets should be individualized. It is much safer to be served at the table and not to touch coffee pots, jugs, tongs...
I liked the presence of refrigerators by the pool so that drinks and fruits were at hand while taking a bath or sunbathing, on the other hand, the attentive and warm attitude of the hotel staff, family, and finally good cleaning and solutions.
Bedside tables, several cascades, and the price of breakfast is like a service so we didn't use that service, I think you can combine the service with a more moderate price and still get a reasonable bang for your buck.
Location and relaxation in the pool
The atmosphere of the interior is outdated, with a light coat of paint and enough change of decor. oh!! you visit the upholsterer
your peace of mind
Outwardly, they are somewhat deteriorated.
The owner of the hotel is very nice, she treats you like you are her family. Very quiet place.
...
Great location and free parking, very friendly staff.
Bad smell in the bathroom, low water pressure in the shower and it wasn't very hot.
Comfortable and clean rooms
It is much better to take care of the image of the reception and the pool.
Great location? Breakfast was too light
Breakfast was too light
Ok breakfast, simple but decent.
The bedding, cold at night, should have been warmer bedding made up.
The rooms are small but everything is there. Magnificent views to the south and north with appropriate visibility. A good starting point for short or long hikes.
In the wind and cold, everything seems a little frosty and unattractive. Very focused on day tourism. The restaurant in the house was closed from 18:00. Without your own car and the ability to drive to Tejeda in the evening, it gets quite lonely there.
Location (mountainous area), staff attention, cleanliness, parking and tranquility.
Shower very good.
Friendly welcome and good breakfast
Room soundproofing (but quiet cottage)
There is a common area where you can safely drink tea and read. Ideal for relaxation. This place is ideal for hiking or other sports activities.
Breakfast is very basic and dinner is a bit confusing because you have to match the restaurant hours below because if you go when it's closed you will have less variety for dinner.
Location
It is impossible to eat after 19:00.
Location as a starting point for hiking
This is a charming home that is home to two wonderful people who go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. Much cheaper than the Parador (also less luxurious).
Dinner is not bad, but there is room for improvement. Of course, there are no alternatives around.
