Fantastic concept, fantastic people
What a fantastic hotel and what a fantastic staff. The concept is beautiful. You imagine yourself in another world and a weekend away feels like a whole trip. Good beds, bathroom and fully equipped. The employees are very correct and attentive. Highly recommended and an asset to Haarlem. We will definitely come back!

Highly Recommended!
The room was great! Very nice, immediately got a "home" feeling upon entering.
The single glazing ensured that we could hear people from the pubs passing by. That's why it was louder. But otherwise excellent!

A fantastic experience in the heart of Haarlem
The hotel has a fantastic atmosphere. The environment is beautiful. The dining room, the bar. The entrance to the rooms. And our room was really great. Beautifully decorated, with a nod to the past. Very atmospheric
I would not know. Nothing. Maybe due to a shortage of staff that the hotel is not manned 24/7, but that's not a problem as you can always get in and reach the owner.

one of the best and most individual accommodations I was allowed to stay in. The basis of the hotel is an old monastery. you can see the charm of it around every corner. full recommendation.
There was nothing to complain about. From the decor, to the cleanliness to the super friendly staff, everything was great.

Excellent breakfast, very friendly and service oriented staff, beautifully decorated room and very good quality bed. Spacious and pleasant bathroom. The whole atmosphere, as the sum of the entourage and good staff, was at the highest level. Featured! Makes you happy!
The lack of staff forces the owner to open catering establishments only in a number of cases. It's a shame because the location and surroundings are perfect for a good glass of snack.

Very nice staff, on arrival our XXL bag was brought to the room through a typical Dutch steep staircase 👍. The hotel is a mixture of art deco, modern, country house, stylish classics and shabby design. Very unusual with a lot of charm because of the mix. The breakfast is rich and fresh, individual wishes are taken into account. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are large and clean. The bed is huge, we slept very well. The location is perfect, right on the Grote Markt. In short, we were very, very excited, we would love to come back. Fantastic hotel where the customer comes first.
We have been to many hotels, but this hotel has so far been one of the most beautiful spacious rooms, including wonderful beds and a beautiful bathroom. Very clean. The breakfast was very good. Friendly staff. In short, we will definitely return to this hotel if we visit Haarlem again.

You always want to spend good days here.
These are special moments and people who made our holiday perfect. The hotel was a former convent from the 17th century. Our room, we did not see others, was very stylish and furnished with love. Separate toilet and large bathroom. Mega great leather lounge chair. The bed was fantastic. We slept well. The room was very large and with very large windows that could be opened. In the evening we could sit together in the window frame (there is a wide bench in front of it) and watch the beautiful, cheerful action on the street (no cars, only bicycles). Great, that's what rest is. And everyone is very nice and kind. Liset, a young Dutch woman, already knew by the second day what we like to eat for breakfast. And Hans, the owner of the hotel, is a very nice guy. Helpful, generous, attentive, easygoing.... You always want to spend good days here.

A very plentiful and varied breakfast, friendly and helpful staff and a special interior of an old building with characteristic elements.
The room was not cleaned when we arrived and the staff didn't notice. Goes well with a drink from the business!

This incredibly beautiful hotel in the center of Haarlem exceeded all our expectations! We felt very comfortable with everything - from the beautiful family room to the very nice staff and the excellent breakfast. An absolute insider tip in the center of Haarlem, everything is within walking distance. We will definitely be back!!!

Great staff and boss. Beautiful room absolutely great.
I was very sorry that we couldn't drink anything after 8pm because the hotel was then closed. Also you couldn't get a cocktail or a nice drink. You have to be able to climb stairs or it's not fun. Fortunately, this is solved with the help of an elevator.

Atmosphere. Home. Beautiful authentic items with modern amenities. openness. Tranquility in the city center. The facilities are beautifully original and clean! Very beautiful and luxurious! The bed was fantastic!
Disappointments: No, nothing special, but... Dots-on-i-dots, which we understand are high on the priority list: - refrigerator in the room (but yes, it's ugly in such a nice room) - air conditioning system -control, similar to an air conditioner, thanks to which it is even better to sleep in the room (rooms) on hot days. What a great hotel to stay!

The design is very original and attractive. With old walls, floors and stairs, but with the latest technology and lovingly furnished. The staff is very friendly and polite.
The historic building is not recommended for people with large luggage or limited mobility as the stairs are narrow and our room had extra steps.

The breakfast was tasty/fresh and more than enough. Personal wishes were fulfilled. It was my wife's birthday and she got a nice surprise at breakfast. Nothing was too much and focused on making us happy. Upon arrival, the room also has a beautiful bottle of cava to celebrate the 50th anniversary, with a personal card from the MAF team. Also in the room placed beautiful decorations for the birthday. Very attentive personal attention!

What a pleasant welcome! This is the place where you are greeted the old fashioned way and keep that feeling throughout your stay. Nicely furnished room, nice bathroom and good bed, location and in the city center! In the morning a fresh good breakfast where nothing was missing. We will definitely be back, thanks guys!

We had a wonderful week in Haarlem with a pleasant stay and friendly staff.
Very attractive hotel room, nice and spacious, nice clean bathroom, good bed and above all very beautiful. Compliments for decor. And of course right in the center of the beautiful city of Haarlem.
I wonder if it is convenient to keep warm in winter, because the windows do not close well and there is only glass.

Fantastic place to explore Haarlem. Walking distance from: center / location: shops, terraces, Haarlem attractions such as Grote Markt, Bavo church, courtyards, cinema, Jopen church. The Raaks car park is also within walking distance of the hotel. The bus stops too! Fantastic location and fantastic hotel! The hotel is incredibly beautiful and romantic as well as trendy. Nice atmosphere. A little different from the usual. The breakfast was neatly presented. Friendly staff. Now I was with a friend for a walk around the city, but next time I will also come with my husband!

we informed them that it was our wedding night and then they decorated the room very nicely. And the hotel was already beautiful and beautifully decorated! Our room was very spacious.

Very nice, but can be improved
Great attention from the staff. This is a very old building that has been partly renovated. Very curious. Our room was for 4 people, one part on the first floor and the other room upstairs. The top one was not well equipped, but the bottom one was spacious and pleasant. We wanted to keep the essence of the old, but sometimes this makes you feel not so comfortable.

The owners of the hotel are very nice and try to make their guests' stay as pleasant as possible! Also the staff is very nice, calm and helpful! The decor is beautiful, the breakfast is plentiful and of high quality, the coffee is delicious, the rooms are individually decorated with love, the bathrooms are clean and nice, the beds are comfortable (not too soft), the location is ideal for walking around the city center. Harlem.
The stairs in the old building are quite steep and narrow, so not barrier-free. However, hotel owners are trying to eliminate or mitigate the resulting difficulties.

Loved the hotel and city!
The decor and relaxed atmosphere besides the beds were great and the Rituals soap is always a pleasure. The location is great!
Registration was dirty. The owner was giving a tour at 3:30 pm which caused guests to queue up to check in. A friendly boy showed us the room at the same time as the other guests. For this we had to wait in the hallway. In the morning (on the day of check-in) we had already left our luggage; this one was next to the restaurant entrance in the afternoon, it could be taken unattended. The door to the room was severely jammed, which disturbed the neighbors at night.

Very good breakfast, great service and nice rooms, perfect location! Tip: The Raaks car park is only 250 meters away and costs 70 euros per week, which is very cheap in Haarlem and Amsterdam. You take your ticket from the machine after entering. You can use the ticket to get in and out as often as you like.

Night in another world!
Luxurious bathroom! Enjoyed a wonderful rain shower and products from the rituals, delicious! Super nice bed, very nice so big. The beautiful antique furniture combined with the color scheme creates a warm atmosphere in the room.
The room was too warm, especially for sleeping. And we couldn't dim the lights on the ceiling, so there was a lot of light at once. Now we have used small lamps.

we enjoyed Haarlem in this cozy hotel in a great location.
super nice staff, they had great tips in terms of restaurants and attractions. Everything was clean, lovely towels and care products. the location is really perfect.
A few small things that didn't make our stay any less pleasant: We found it a bit warm in the room. a few things, like the bathroom contact points, weren't finished yet. the toilet door couldn't close and the tv and wi-fi didn't work optimally in our room

Ideal! There is no better sleep! Again and again in Harlim.
Breakfast and location are great! A small drawback There is no parking on site and it is impossible to drive up by car. The garage is still accessible by the river.

Very large room, clean, modern and recently refurbished. The old hotel is completely under renovation. Exceptional breakfast. The kindness of the staff. Even if the front desk is not open 24/7, chatting via WhatsApp is very easy.
Noise from next room. Noise isolation is rather weak for my taste.

Beautiful large room in a beautiful and atmospheric historic building. Good bed. Right in the center. Good, nice bathroom with good (rain) shower and large/deep bathtub. Delicious and plentiful breakfast. The table was set so that the assembled/ordered food could be eaten during the lockdown. And everything was very clean!

Fantastic.
Upon entering, we were both very impressed with the beautiful room. Everything was thought out to the last detail. Nothing is left to chance. My entire film is filled with photographs of this room, which serve as inspiration for my own home. The bathroom was also nicely decorated and comfortable.

Great people who work there. Very helpful and customer oriented The room was nice and comfortable. With a very nice bathroom. Excellent double bed.
The walk in shower made a huge eater ballet in the bathroom. The stairs upstairs are inconvenient for the elderly. But since the hotel is still under development, it will be adapted.
