The houseboat was very nicely decorated and we had everything we needed. Karen was super nice and prepared everything with a lot of love. It was very clean and cereal, coffee, tea and small snacks were already available. She also regularly refilled coffee etc. or brought us eggs. Which we didn't expect at all. That surprised us so positively. The small folder with restaurant tips was also helpful, and there were also umbrellas, rain caps and games. We felt very comfortable. We will be back definitely. Will be our permanent address in Amsterdam.
Karen's welcome was fantastic! We loved our stay. In the kitchen, a microwave allows you to have a hot meal. Karen leaves all kinds of drinks and snacks. In the bathroom, a very pleasant little hygiene kit! Remember to turn off the heating at night, because the bedroom located in the mezzanine heats up quickly!
Location and reception. Thank you for everything and look forward to coming back.
Everything was very good.
The accommodation itself is beautiful, very charming and just special! The landlady loves to take care of the guests and you can see this in every detail! The small kitchen is sufficient to prepare a fine breakfast. If you still need some rest from (or before) the night, you can watch Netflix on the boat or make friends with the swans in front of the terrace. The location is great for exploring Amsterdam from the north. There are some very nice restaurants and cafes nearby. Lots of street art and the romance of old industrial plants and new, often interesting architecture, a beautiful attitude towards life! The ferry takes you to the city center of Amsterdam easily and free of charge. Bicycles are available directly in front of the houseboat, free of charge!
Really nothing.
The property was just a few minutes walk from the Ataturk bus stop. We particularly liked that the houseboat was furnished very tastefully and with great attention to detail. Located on the waterfront, it is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Amsterdam. We were happy about numerous snacks and drinks, Books to read and borrow and an album designed by the hostess for excursion tips and restaurants. There are also board games in a beautiful old chest that doubles as a coffee table, and a TV with Netflix access is hidden in a suitcase attached to the wall. Really creative set up! The terrace on the water invites you to have breakfast or to end the day comfortably. We had two bicycles available and in 5 minutes we were at the ferry to the city. A good quiet location! A particularly sweet surprise was a cat that needed to be cuddled and that welcomed us several times at the jetty and in the parking lot. The hostess who lives next door gave us a very warm welcome and showed us everything. She was very personable and helpful, but not pushy at all. We felt very comfortable in their houseboat.
Cozy/isolated side of accommodation while everything is accessible on foot/bike (provided!!!) or by ferry (free) - you don't even need a transport card! And then a greeting from Karen, who turned this piece of barge into a real cocoon 👌
If you want to find fault, then it's better not to use your evening too much to come down from the mezzanine in the middle of the night.
Karen is the queen of hospitality and generosity! It was the best living experience in my entire life. This is a beautiful studio, thought out to the smallest detail for maximum comfort and a pleasant stay. Everything in the studio was in perfect condition and very, very clean. Breakfast on the outdoor terrace (also covered) is a fantastic experience. Karen offers maps for visiting the city, ideas for eating out, and everything is very well explained and detailed. The area is very quiet. Without a doubt, if we return to Amsterdam, we will repeat the experience in this studio.
Everything was just great! Really recommended it! Thank you dear Karen, we had a great time!
Romantic and typical
Everything is fine!
What a delicious decor. Loving arrangements and amazing details. Quiet place and wonderful hostess. Communication worked well in all media, whether it was parking tips or supermarket locations.
😊
A floating house is something special. Everything is very nice and tastefully furnished. Karen is the perfect host. There is a folder with tips and suggestions. The bikes are perfect. You are on the ferry in about 7 minutes and then 20 minutes later at the main station.
Our host Karen is great! You feel very welcome and you can feel how lovingly she built her houseboat and runs it like a home. Karen is very attentive and helpful. Cleanliness is very good, nothing to complain about. The provision of bicycles was great because the ferry crossing in town is easy to get to and you can be mobile there.
Nothing.
Location, small touches. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. The staff is very welcoming and available.
The mezzanine bedroom was not listed on the booking, but that didn't give us any more problems. In addition, we ran out of storage space for clothes.
Ideal for a short spring break, special atmosphere thanks to the charm of a houseboat, very nicely furnished and clean, great area that you can discover on free bikes, lots of attention (snacks, drinks, tea, coffee, messages, tips, parting gift ) from the hostess who lives next door and is very polite and helpful, plus points also due to the free parking and hassle-free arrival without city traffic (especially for Amsterdam) but still with a good connection to the city on the free ferry from NDSM (runs regularly ) and an unusual way to get to know the city, attention in the northern area many bars and museums are open only from Wednesday to Sunday, so it's better to plan in advance :), the apartment is small but well equipped (with a floating terrace, kettle, small fridge, egg maker, filter coffee maker , hair dryer, comfortable hot shower, TV with Netflix, etc.)
The bed (140 cm) was a bit small by our standards, there was only one blanket and it was very noisy, but that's a matter of taste for us as well, as it was a short trip (2 nights) it was perfectly ok. , it also got cold at night (March) very cold after all you don't book a hotel here but feel like a houseboat so we can ignore it and had an unforgettably great time
We loved this barge area, our host was particularly welcoming and attentive, the houseboat was truly atypical, beautifully decorated and well equipped. It was perfect
Ideal starting point for a city trip. It's super fast with the free ferry to Amsterdam. The boathouse is a complete oasis of tranquility and well-being. Furnished with attention to detail and many small details from the wonderful host Karen! We've traveled a lot, but it's rarely that warm. We will be happy to return!
Intimate places
Small house, very small, no stove or microwave .. a little uncomfortable, the TV is a little small.
Karen was very attentive to us and the cleaning and the place were great.
It may be a little far from the center, but there is a free ferry that takes you to the central station.
Privacy available - easily accessible by bike - quiet - very nice hostess
The "kitchen" is minimalistic - no coffee machine, although indicated, no kitchen utensils / no microwave oven - NO drawbacks - note: the stairs to the sleeping area, of course, are not for everyone, there should be no physical restrictions. You cannot stand at the top.
Great location, people take the ferry 10 minutes walk and free. Very nice and quiet, only a few cars can be heard from time to time (usually I sleep easily and slept well) The houseboat is as in the photographs (it looks bigger in the photographs, but it is cute and quite suitable for 2 people for 5 days) Very clean and tidy, there is tea, coffee, water and snacks. Simply cute and comfortably furnished to feel good
Nothing!!! The weather could have been better ... But, unfortunately, dear hostess Karen did not influence her 😜
The houseboat is very nicely and tastefully decorated and Karen, our hostess, was very friendly and helpful. After exhausting city tours, it was an oasis of calm and relaxation.
There was only a blanket on the bed. Because we came as friends, not as a couple; a little difficult. The mattress was also quite thin.
When we arrived outside it was an ordinary apartment, when we saw it inside, it exceeded our expectations despite its small size, it is a very cozy place, very clean and well distributed, we spent a week there and the treatment from the owner was impressive, highly recommended and also if we go back to Amsterdam we will repeat, as although it is not in the city center it has very good public transport connections.
Houseboat owner's hospitality
Weather 😅
The grooming is very loving. Everything is labeled and even the first breakfast was there. You immediately feel at home.
On the outside, the houseboat is having its best days, but on the inside, it's ooh.
