I would go back, but I would try other options first.

The food is not good. In addition to repetitive, little varied and limited. There were very good dishes, but they were few. Pasta could not be eaten. The desserts were repeated and with very little variety. There were two tastes of ice cream per night. If the bin ran out, they did not replenish. In the cafeteria and where they make tacos and crepes, at the busiest times, there was only one person for coffee, one for cold drinks and another for food. Unnecessarily long queues were generated. To give the service like this, it is preferable not to give it. Better to leave something for people to drink on their own. Like non-alcoholic drinks. For a soda, you had to wait for the only person who served the bar to finish preparing the drinks for those in front of you. Unnecessarily disorganized. Transportation to and from the beach should be a bit more frequent. At least at certain times. In any case, the balance is positive.

I feel that the restaurants need better preparation, they are themed, I imagine exquisite food and it was not to my liking, I compare it with other resorts we have been to. The Italian restaurant was beautiful but it took too long to bring us the food, the international buffet was good, it had a choice of gluten-free bread, my favorite green juice, regarding price-quality the stay per night is very high.

If they get a very good rate, it complies and the sea and beach in that sector are spectacular.

What got much worse is the Argentine restaurant, we ate lousy and we filled with smoke because the grill extractor didn't work. The worst thing is that the smoke, when shared with the Brazilian, also came, a pity because the Brazilian is good. But also, in general, we noticed that the quality of the food decreased in all of them. Things were missing that were there before. Rooms: There was no wi-fi in many adult rooms (we went in a group). Although they were well painted and well maintained (we had gone 6 years ago) it needs redecorating and improving the water pressure. The staff in some restaurants seemed grumpy. We made reservations through the Mexican app but when we went to the restaurant it was closed. Another night we personally made a reservation in the French one, when we arrived the next day there was no place because they had not been informed (they got us a place in the Italian one instead and they reserved us again for the following night). Keep in mind that the hotel is very long perpendicular to the beach, so only a few rooms, in the adults-only sector, are close to the sea. The rest are far away, for some you have to walk 20 minutes or wait for the bus. If you want a sea view, there are only a few in the adult sector. Ask from the second floor. Those on the ground floor have access to the garden and there are some plants that cover the sea. An elevator in our sector was not working.

Difficult to identify a negative element in a structure that offers everything from fresh fruit in the room and a good red to cocktails by the pool. The whole group expressed high/very high ratings on the Sandos Playcar. Paola/Barbara pointed out the indiscriminate use of air conditioning, judging it excessive. Small drawback: the wifi, excellent the first evening, non-existent from the second.

Disappointment, on our vacation!

that the family rooms are very far from the beach, and from the children's pool, and from the buffet restaurant, from the shows, and transportation is every 15 minutes, and with children it is very difficult to travel with children, and instead for adults the rooms are in front of the beach, in front of the restaurant. There are no liquid or soft drink dispensers nearby especially for children, everything was far away. and they were only available near the beach or in the restaurant, for this reason it was difficult to keep the children hydrated and they don't let them take anything out of the restaurants, so we could only give them what we could offer them either at breakfast, lunch or dinner. The rooms lack more electrical outlets, the elevators are very poorly maintained, dirty, they smell bad, and the one that touched us near the room only went up to the 2nd floor and the room was on the 3rd floor. They never answered the phone when you called the reception, and checking takes between 40 and 50 minutes for each family, it's too long, call to ask for some towels, a room service, it was difficult they didn't answer, so the reception service it is perverse. I do not recommend it

the staff is grumpy, at the reception they are slow, I am a person with food allergies; only on 2 occasions were they nice to me regarding this issue. The alcoholic beverages they offer are of poor quality, the flavor is hardly appreciated

Like I said no access cars and another thing is the low maintenance animal pen which is in the center of the hotel which is very sad. they are in a pen with no way out, with heat and an unbearable smell.

The food in the themed restaurants was not very good and some of them looked sloppy. In addition, we did not receive adequate assistance due to the loss of one of our mobile phones, which was in the possession of a hotel employee who did not give it to whoever it belonged to. Only one snack restaurant for the whole hotel which is very big and far away, there is a queue at the adult bar because there is only one boy, it is very difficult to reserve a la carte restaurants and when you arrive they will not be full. 4 nights we were only able to book 2, the buffet is large, rich and varied but repeated daily.

Great stay but beware of the fine print.

There are some details that could be improved. On some days there was a very unpleasant smell from the rooms, like from a septic tank. Another detail is that the atmosphere in the restaurants can be improved so that they really feel like restaurants, not casinos. By changing a couple of details, the experience could be better, especially in gauchos. Finally, what I did not like at all was that when I walked in they asked me for a $200 guarantee (which is good), but when I left it occurred to me to ask when they would refund me the money, on that they replied that if I do not give them the "voucher" is not refundable. Apparently, the piece of paper that I was given a few days ago was left in some pants or suitcase, as they never mentioned to keep it. They eventually found their copy and told me they would return that warranty. I didn't like that if I hadn't asked they wouldn't have returned it.

I didn't like the difference the waiters and bar staff make with the "Yankee" tourists, the difference they make when it comes to their service (for US dollar tips) is very treacherous to the rest. This is already getting very annoying and uncomfortable.

Everything you need in one place

Many of the activities, including restaurants, require prior reservation. They constantly invite you to talks for investment in development. The store inside the hotel raises the cost up to 300%. Service carts pass along the pedestrian sidewalks at high speed.

The best and worst of Sandos Playacar

The only restaurant on the beach, food that was finished on the 2nd shift took time to be replenished or not replenished at all. Internal transfer cars were slow and sometimes one at a time.

We arrived at 2pm on a day when occupancy was far from full and the front desk was quiet. They did not allow us to enter the room until 3:30 p.m. It was difficult to activate the wifi. Please, we wait in the bar that is next to the reception without problems. The gift shop is outrageously expensive, especially since there is a mall less than a km away. Neither the "Argentine" nor the Italian restaurant was up to the task (neither quality, nor quantity, nor attention). These two experiences were enough for us to discard the a la carte dinner and go directly to the buffet the rest of the nights.

The Family has an incredible time, but with several things to improve

THE BAD: all the time there are people from Premium memberships trying to sell you, it's kind of annoying. Also the people in the photos all the time behind you trying to convince you to take photos. The worst are the people at the spa, there is no way they don't try to sell you, even we booked 2 massages but THEY NEVER INFORMED ME THAT I COULD NOT CANCEL THEM UNLESS IT WAS 24 HOURS BEFORE we booked it 12 hours in advance when I wanted to cancel them They simply told me that it couldn't be done, I talked to the spa manager and in a very bad way she told me that I had signed and that she was going to do it for me because otherwise she would charge me, so I had to tell her that I would post this on social networks so that it would not happen to other tourists and there they told me that they would not charge me, the surprise is that when I check out I do not remove it from the account and the reception manager and the girl who attended us very kindly After a while I withdraw it from my account, which is a bit tiring since the process took about 30 minutes, but unlike the spa manager, very good service.

We arrived at 11 pm already tired, when we got to the room there was no A/C control and the phone didn't work, so I had to go to the reception three times (which isn't close) to ask for it to be fixed so I could ask for room service. On another occasion we turned on the tub and the water came out dirty like rust, even letting the water run it did not clean, the cabinets also did not close because the sheets were damaged.

Very complicated restaurant reservations. Very far everything. Somewhat old resort; would need a remodel. Of course, on the first line of a great beach.

The rooms are old. They smell musty, even though they tell you to leave the a.a. on all day. It looks like they haven't been renovated in decades. The shower is fixed, very old; the "toilettries" are hilarious. Restaurants have a very variable quality. The all-you-can-eat buffet is okay, but nothing special. The Asiana restaurant and the Gourmet restaurant are good, but the Piemonte, Italian, Italian has nothing and there is nothing on the menu that saves it. A crap. The rest pass without pain or glory.

It lacks security, good beach

The first day they stole dollars from us in one of the rooms, they went to security and told us that in 24 hours they would have a response from the investigation, they never responded to us, nor did they take responsibility for anything. A disappointment. The cleaning of the rooms was not the best, they took out the towels and did not replace them.

We had too much fun even sleeping in separate beds :(

We reserved a room with a double bed, the bathroom was covered so they had to change our room to one with two beds, they did not have rooms available. We traveled to celebrate our marriage anniversary and we had to spend 9 nights in separate beds. It didn't look good to me.

Internal transport takes a long time to pass and is often full, that's too bad, we almost always had to walk, with children and an elderly person. Very poor food in the Piemonte restaurant. Too much noise due to poor acoustics in the Asiatico restaurant. The difference in cleanliness and setting of plants between the family area (basic and with dirt accumulated between the plants) with the areas closest to the beach (very well-kept and clean) is very noticeable.
