The hotel and staff are a dream
the hotel is very beautiful, tastefully decorated rooms, with a lovely garden. The staff is very kind, the food is good, located in a quiet, elegant and very green area.
in my opinion, there is a problem with management: for example, the reception consists of only two stations, one of which is often empty, so check-in is very slow, even if there are only a few guests. The staff is very polite, but poorly coordinated, especially in the restaurant. Very slow service, even from the order to the arrival of the dishes takes 40 minutes. Breakfast is buffet and a la carte which is a poor buffet for an expensive hotel like this one. The mattresses are a little worn. We asked for a late check out (a hotel with a lot of empty rooms) but were given a room until 2pm after much insistence. In a less stellar and expensive hotel, everything would be tolerable, but with Hemingway rates, more is expected.

magnificent colonial building. quiet, elegant, very well distributed
room
unsociable bar
Hotel atmosphere. His style and his calmness. Rooms and their mythical African atmosphere. The staff in general were very correct, but I have to single out those of the restaurants and concierges who were attentive to help with the covid tests, photocopies and this terrible network of QR and covid tests that we are forced to. All amenities. Well cooked food and very relaxing places in the garden
There is really nothing I wouldn't like to point out other than the room service which is very mediocre and far from five star level. Something is missing in this hotel to be in the category where it is. It's not disappointing, but not what you'd expect either. Therefore, it seems that this hotel is "worth" the money. It's easy to talk about value for money here. This is a luxury hotel and you have to give luxury, I hope you understand me. If you remember what you paid, it's that it's not up to expectations and perhaps other alternatives should be analyzed.
A magnificent hotel in life is even more beautiful than in the photographs. The room is amazing with great decor. Very calm and relaxing place
Very very cold pool
Spa staff are lazy and underperforming
The surroundings, decor, simply the whole concept
The gym lacked some facilities and the sauna & steam room were in disarray/messy
Ideal for relaxing at the end of a safari in Masai Mara. Thought-out concept to the smallest detail, nothing is overlooked.
Low stocks of bread; almost exclusively sweet particles; also on request. On the second day, however, there were "brown toasts". The departure policy is incomprehensible, 75% of the daily rate if extended until 18:00, if the house is almost empty.
great hotel, very comfortable room, garden, restaurant, bar. The staff is very kind, very helpful, attentive. Ideally
the pool should be a little small in high season
