Too bad we didn't discover this little gem sooner.
A room of about 45 square meters and a height of 4 meters with an open pitched roof. Very modern and spacious bathroom. A very friendly and educated woman (Italian with excellent German)) handed over the keys on the ground floor and gave us many tips for our stay. Too bad we had to leave.

Lovely apartment in original surroundings with hiking trails on the doorstep.
Spacious one bedroom apartment is beautiful. The bathroom is also large and modern. The location overlooking the beautiful little church is great. You can start hiking right from home. The owner Mariella is very nice and helpful.
Offside has its advantages and disadvantages. The small village of Montorfano is very original. Here you are away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Maggiore. If you like to drive on narrow serpentine roads, short trips are not a problem.

I would like to do it again.
We were very pleased. There was plenty of space and it was quiet. The equipment was everything. Mariella is a very friendly hostess.

An all-round successful holiday in a historic setting!
Mariella is a great host. She speaks German very well, was always available and gave us lots of tips for sightseeing and background information about the history of the village etc. The village of Montorfano is extraordinary, we stayed where others go on excursions. Montorfano is located between the lakes Mergozzo and Maggiore. From there, you can explore both lakes by car, and there are several well-signposted hiking trails from the village. The apartment is quite big and suitable for 3 people. Everything we needed was there. The stay at the Aquilone apartments was a success in every way.
I can't say anything bad about the apartment. Keep in mind that many restaurants close in autumn, and you need to be able to serve yourself.

Great location, cozy apartment and pleasant hostess - again at any time!
The apartment is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, in a very beautiful, quiet place. In the immediate vicinity there are several hiking trails, as well as climbing rocks - amazingly beautiful nature. The apartment has everything you need for a long stay. Since this is a large room, it takes time to warm up on cold days, but is otherwise very cozy and homey. However, you shouldn't count on WiFi here :). Hostess Mariella is very personable, courteous and helpful wherever she can. She also speaks very good German. :)

Sunny apartment
Very nice host, good location to explore the area. It is very quiet here, the church mentioned in the description does not ring the bell. Very clean. Short road to Lake Mergozzo (by car) or on foot to a beautiful viewpoint.

Excellent location, very comfortable and well-equipped house, exactly matches the photos, located in a beautiful village, very quiet. The owner is very nice and helpful.

A big plus were fly nets that were attached to each window, very warm and caring hostess.
