Very good location in the Upper Town, main attractions within a few hundred meters. The apartment has a real antique feeling.
The accommodation was good, but details were missing: e.g. in the bedroom, a small bedside table, reading lamp, etc. We would not have felt the lack of air conditioning, because the meter-thick walls protected us from the heat, and at night we could ventilate through the open windows facing the street. However, due to the nature of the street, you cannot sleep with an open window! Every passing car makes such an explosion-like noise that even the dead wake up.
Bergamo Cita Alta is very beautiful and Arco Antico is a good distance from the city center. This is a spacious apartment.
We found the apartment especially bare, empty and atmospheric. It was nothing like the presentation photos on Booking. The owner 'refreshed' it (there were a lot of white spots and stains) and labeled it 'minimalist character' as he put it, which left us missing essentials such as: wardrobes next to the bed with a lamp, hooks in the bathroom, to hang clothes and towels, a fan, curtains in the bedroom, a TV and TV cabinet, kitchen towels and, last but not least, a coffee maker. The last, according to the owner, was probably taken by previous guests, and he did not take care of the other. Notably, even much cheaper hotel rooms almost always have a coffee machine. The central location is also a disadvantage. The footpath to the lower town is across the street from the apartment and it was very noisy until 3am when we were there. As a result, the windows had to remain closed, and so frying was unbearable due to the lack of a fan. The mattress on the bed is good, but shorter than the bed by 10 cm. After a sleepless night, we decided to have breakfast with a cup of coffee on the terrace and not stay another night. We paid for it. I reported this to the owner that morning and received no response in return. We've been using Booking.com for years, but we've never experienced anything like this. Still, they paid quite a bit (too much) money for it.
This is a dream place with a very original setting. Everything was fabulous. You can count on Alessandro for everything. Great person.
Fantastic location, beautifully decorated and nice host with great restaurant tips. Again and again!!
Location. When asking about the desired / nearest bus stop, it is better to pronounce "near Porta San Giacomo" . The closed shutters did a good job of blocking out streetlights at night.
The very brief initial description of the procedure for "getting" the key led to completely unnecessary stress (plus we didn't get to our first scheduled event because of this). We are not fans of such "quests" to get into the booked and paid apartments. The electric kettle is still missing. Problems with the shower - sometimes the drain does not work, then hot water disappears - unfortunately, remain relevant. When the atmospheric pressure changed (before the rain), the bathroom smelled specifically.
Nice authentic apartments. Convenient location.
A little frivolous owner (I had to look for him through booking, I ran in 10 minutes!). the shower is loosely fixed (moves out), it was not easy to deal with the TV (we didn’t figure it out, we watched one channel), the curtain in the bedroom is transparent (the lantern molds into the window all night),
Problem-free contact with the owner. We were at the airport at midnight, in order to save us stress (after prior e-mail contact), the owner sent us a driver for an additional 30 euros (which is ok for local conditions). The driver (a nice Italian woman) gave us a lift to the very door of the facility. The tenement house and the apartment itself (building style) as if cut out of some monastery, the entrance door as if to a penitential cell, incredibly atmospheric - great for us. The photos of the apartment are slightly "tuned up" but in our opinion it did not diminish its positive qualities. One could, of course, pick on some details (such as, for example, the communist-era kitchen furniture that does not quite match the decor), but we personally will not pick on it. The stone arches inside the suite, wooden ceiling and wooden shutters were jaw-dropping. In addition, the apartment is equipped with everything you need (iron, hair dryer, towels, kitchen utensils and free coffee). The interior is clean, you can't feel the moisture from the stone walls. And finally, the most important thing is the location - the whole old town (citta alta) at your fingertips... :-)
problem with wi-fi but it's probably due to the thick walls of the tenement house because everything was ok outside :-)
Apartment in a very nice location, very close to everything, in a historic house. Very nice hosts. Stylish, nice and clean inside. I liked it very much. Spacious. It would be perfect - but a few things need to be improved. There is potential...
I think you need to replace the water heater because I couldn't take a bath because there was only cold water. This is a big drawback before flying by plane. We also didn't find a kettle and there was only one wine glass...
Significantly late with San Bernardino locked down, but check-in and key collection was seamless and relaxed.
Beautiful, welcoming structure, central location in the Upper Town, quiet
A very nice place. The location met our expectations, two steps to the very center of the old town, a few minutes from the bus stop. The gentleman who delivered the keys was very polite and willing to share some practical advice.
Perfect place! Old town, narrow street, wonderful patio for the cat, Spacious, authentic and comfortable.
Everything is perfect. We just rearranged a houseplant)
