charm of a unique location, quiet walled garden, close to everything
The location was excellent and the hosts are very nice and helpful. The decor was lavish and...special...Very different from the pictures. But okay.
I thought the apartment would have 3 bedrooms..
The location of the villa is brilliant: right in the center of Arona but in privacy as you walk through an archway and down a long hallway to find yourself in a beautiful hidden garden. From there it goes to the villa and apartments. Despite the hustle and bustle of the square, the house is pleasantly quiet. There is enough space in the garden and various places where you can sit or eat at a large table. Palms and camellias are beautiful. The interior of the villa is very unusual: everywhere there are works of art by the artist Franco Pulacini, mirrors, lamps, colorful pillows - a truly exceptional place. The villa is from the 13th century - so it's not a modern, sterile renovated house, but with corners, edges, sloping floors, etc. We just loved it - others might find it annoying. Small shops with fashion for all tastes and budgets, great bookstores/galleries, great restaurants and cafes, almost no tourists - and everything is on the doorstep. We did not use the car during our stay. It is possible to park for 20 euros per day in the garage of the villa in the courtyard - be careful, the entrance is very narrow, the Golf barely crawls through. Otherwise, you will receive a parking ticket from the hosts, with which you can park in all areas of the village marked in blue for 5 euros per day. The invoice will be issued directly to the hosts upon departure. Very friendly and quick contact with the hostess before and during the trip. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne, the rooms were decorated with wonderful camellias from the garden. At Easter we received two more bottles of sparkling wine. Thumbs up for a large fridge with large freezer - a rarity in holiday rentals! We found the beds comfortable, they were a bit short for my very tall sons.
There is a bathroom with a toilet - for seven people this requires good preparation! The kitchen equipment is simple but ok for a short vacation. Cooking for seven people will be difficult in the long run. There is only one truly private bedroom - the door of which does not close. Otherwise, an intermediate floor is installed in one room (very high rooms everywhere). Includes a single bed that can be used as a day sofa and a double bed separated by a curtain. Another double bed on the gallery.
