The view and the garden are amazing. The restaurant and housekeeping staff are very pleasant. The wonderful beach.
I thought I had a balcony room upstairs but in fact on the ground floor and therefore the sea view is almost non-existent. I don't understand the sea view supplement and the photos of the room taken upstairs. The furniture had to be changed and it is leather rather than wood as shown in previous photos when booking. This gives a much colder, less warm room. It is very simple and the bathroom is not terrible for the price. Since the covid, there is no longer yoga in the morning or meditation in the evening, this being the main reason for my choice of this hotel. The receptionist was not very friendly and told me that I had to leave. After half a day of looking for a hotel, his manager, more accommodating, told me on the phone not to leave and that they were organizing a private yoga class for me, which I appreciated even if the atmosphere yoga center I was looking for was not there. The receptionist was unreliable on my requests and I had to ask again several times (bed linen, cleaning, tuktuk reservation, yoga set up only on the 2nd day...). This does not set a good holiday mood. Too bad, the place is beautiful and there is potential.
The ideal location on the cliff with a breathtaking panoramic view overlooking Varkala beach as far as the eye can see, it's spectacular!
Ras
The staff is very polite and helpful in all matters, cozy and comfortable for a quiet rest
The descent to the beach is equipped with not very convenient and sometimes not very safe stairs
Great ambience, large garden with a beautiful view of the sea
Unique location on the southern cliff of Varkala, very nice, well-kept grounds
Almost no service available, rooms need modernization, no services like Ayurveda or Yoga available although stated on the website, no breakfast menu or similar
The location is great, you have direct access to the beach via a staircase, which was very nice, tidy and clean. The view is amazing, the sea, sunsets, even dolphins. In the garden there are loungers and hammocks. The room (suite with balcony) was beautiful, also very clean. The bed big and comfortable. The bathroom also large, clean and always hot water. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Every morning we could participate in yoga, this was included in the room price. Meditation is also offered in the evening, which we can't say anything about since we didn't take part.
The quality of the food was good, maybe a bit bland after 2 months of Indian cuisine, but we found the size of the portions to be too small, especially in the morning for breakfast after doing yoga for an hour. The selection was rather small. We personally found it a pity that there was no fish, since we were at the sea and saw the fishing boats every evening.
