Warm and attentive welcome from Kerstin. Room on the quiet garden. Hearty breakfast with fresh products (squeezed orange juice, pomegranate from the garden). Enclosed private parking. Ideal location for the various sites: Kommos beach, archaeological sites of Phaistos and Agia Triada, gorges of Agio Farago.

Very good house. Small nice garden to relax A few breakfast formulas, arethus formula is very good with egg, yogurt... There are several restaurants in the village in a square lined with bougainvilleas. Very good value for money. We are far from the crush of Matala!!! We breathe.

The owner is very helpful, very attentive. She made us feel very welcome. She even put us in a room in the courtyard, better than the ones we had booked. The guesthouse is very close to the beautiful beach and Matale.

We chose this guesthouse because of the great reviews and we were absolutely right. Great welcome from Michael and sp. Kerstin who were extremely helpful, professional and very friendly. His beach and tavern suggestions are very helpful as he knows how to direct us to non-tourist places that made us enjoy authentic Crete. The guest house has proven itself to be an excellent logistical point for exploring the cities and beaches, as well as for visiting Matala, which has a special charm and energy. Excellent breakfast served on outdoor tables, very varied and tasty. Heartfelt thanks to Kerstin and all her staff and encouragement to reopen her business during these not-so-easy times. P.S. Do not trust in my opinion the negative reviews of spt, if without any comments (which in this case would be useful for any improvements). Kerstin and her retirement deserve special attention, and we wish her much good and a great future. Thanks again and see you next time.

We had a very nice room with a sunny balcony on the ground floor and the hostess responded to our wishes in the best possible way. The town has a country charm, great restaurants and shops, and is quiet and cozy compared to crowded Matala. The stand "Komos" is spacious nearby, no "factory economy", as in Matale.

The breakfast was very rich. The rooms were small but adequate and the balcony was very large. The beds were very comfortable and had a mosquito net. The cleanliness left nothing to be desired. Hospitality is very important there! In the immediate vicinity there are enough restaurants where you can eat well. You can spend a good 14 days there, but you'll need a rental car if you want to explore the area.

Very well equipped guesthouse in a quiet area with many small taverns and shops nearby. The local beach can be reached in just 5 minutes by car. Shops for everyday needs are within walking distance.

The guesthouse is located close to the beaches and Matala. There are several taverns nearby (within walking distance). The reception is very friendly and very pleasant. Thanks to our host for his kindness and a little advice. She has a great breakfast and listens to the tourists she greets. This was the 3rd time we arrived, will be back 4th time no problem! We feel good there! I recommend !

Our hosts were very nice and we especially liked the hygiene concept, we felt safe. Breakfast was very good, good selection that leaves nothing to be desired, everything is fresh and very nicely presented. We changed a few rooms, but Pension Aretoussa 5 minutes from Matala is the accommodation we liked the most during our entire vacation! We were greeted with great kindness and sympathy. The breakfast was plentiful and great (you could choose from four very tasty and very suitable options). Rooms are equipped with basic mosquito nets. Fabulous!

The kindness of the manager and the garden

Despite the sanitary conditions associated with COVID we were very well received, the location of the hotel is outside Matala, but only a few Kim's are perfect, the room which was at the back of the hotel from the garden side was very clean and quiet bonus comfortable bed with mosquito net ... The breakfast was very good, with a choice between 4 formulas with different prices, finally the host greeted you perfectly. I highly recommend it for the price of 55 € per night with breakfast TOP

good location, everything is within walking distance Garden view rooms are very quiet. As I booked on relatively short notice, I had a room facing the street, but the street noise was tolerable and there was a very nice balcony shaded by trees.

The hotel is tastefully and comfortably furnished. Our garden view room with balcony was very quiet and a large mosquito net was installed over the bed as a safety precaution. We could park our car in the hotel's own parking lot. We received a very warm and courteous welcome from the German hostess and her Greek husband. The breakfast was delicious and filled with freshly squeezed orange juice.

The owners really care about the residents. Kerstin's welcome was perfect, even for our late arrival. She gave us good advice and surprised us one evening by booking a table for her residents at a restaurant in the center of the village on the occasion of the annual traditional music concert that was in front of us. The hotel is very well located, close to the village centre, restaurants and several shops. Our room was on the garden side so quite quiet with a double bed and a very nice terrace. The breakfast is varied, fresh and high quality. There we met very friendly residents who became regular visitors. The price / quality ratio is unrivaled. The parking is very convenient, we had a car to explore the area.

We had a rich breakfast but sometimes we still regret it because we don't know why, although we think it's because of the clients from all over the Rhine who come to stay in this establishment, the owner and whose manager is married to a real Cretan native of Pitsidia, a pleasant village with a place and a very lively heart in the evenings in the summer, that the products of which it is composed are not farm products (cheese, ham). But as I said above and elsewhere on this trip, the manager and waitress hired by the latter are friendly and kind to match the generosity of the Cretans. We liked the principle of trust offered by our hosts. A very beautiful establishment, in which the charm of our room, as well as others, undoubtedly comes from her husband's pictorial talent. Charming welcome from Kerstin who bothered to email us to confirm the room type. Our room overlooked the garden, with a very pleasant balcony. It's clean, well maintained, perfect for a few days of exploring. They have closed parking for customers. You can easily walk to the city center, its square and restaurants. Excellent breakfast.

I didn't have breakfast, I have no opinion. The location exactly what I wanted. You can even walk to the incredible beach of Komos, just 4 km before Matala, on the main road.

Price/performance is ok. The owner gives good advice and is happy to help.

That the owner rented us a 3-bed room with a small surcharge, so only the two of us had a room on the garden.
