Very pleasant owners. A little more rustic furnishings which seemed quaint but the room was pleasantly furnished.

Very nice, courteous staff, left no questions unanswered. The breakfast was absolutely sufficient with fresh coffee and, if requested, freshly boiled eggs. The WiFi network also ran without problems. Parking space in the backyard. Gladly again!

The breakfast was really good. There was nothing missing and the host couple were on hand to help if there was something we couldn't find. The tables were nicely set as if you were visiting family. The beds were good (not too soft). The room was large and the children had their own room. The host spoke really good English (this is not normal in Germany!). Out of the 6 different accommodations we visited on holiday, this was the one we had the best experience.

Highest price-performance

City villa, close to the center of Oberhof, close to many sightseeing spots. Negative ratings on various rating portals could not be confirmed and also not understood. Everything was fresh for breakfast, even the salmon was available. The drinks were warm and the eggs were always freshly cooked. Mr. Haupt is friendly and accommodating to guests of all ages, as is his wife, but a little more reserved than your husband. However, great hosts. We had a problem with the TV in the room because the front desk was not open and we let them know. The TV was just exchanged without any problems ...... the problem is recognized the problem is banned .... TOP👍👍👍

Lovingly furnished guest house with excellent breakfast. The bathroom has been recently refurbished. There is a fridge with drinks at a very reasonable price. So we could enjoy a glass of cold wine after a long day of hiking!

The house is nice and big. The room was very spacious and bright, there was even a coffee maker. The bathroom has been recently refurbished. The breakfast was small but good. There were fresh fruits, several types of honey, muesli and coffee brought as soon as you sit down at the table. There is a fridge in the corridor with drinks that you can pour yourself at any time (I hope the guests are all honest and write down the drinks they drink).

Well located guest house run by a very friendly couple. The room was very nice, with a sofa and a table to spend the evening comfortably. The bathroom was outstanding: super modern, well refurbished, and it was clear that a lot of money had been invested in it. Breakfast was prepared with great love: herring salad with meat and fruit salad in jars. 10 varieties!!! Sausages and various types of cheese, jams, muesli, juices, fruit, fresh pastries, etc... Everything you need to start your day well was there. Big hit: butter machine! You pressed the button and the oil came out in chunks. It's completely hygienic and we really enjoyed it. 150 meters away is the restaurant "Waldschlößchen", where you can eat very well and in a rustic way. We would stay here again anytime. PLUS: We had a cardigan in our closet that was sent to us within two days. This is a service! Thanks a lot!

A cozy guesthouse with very pleasant operators, a delicious breakfast, a kettle in the room and stable WiFi. It's a short walk (5-10 minutes) to the city center and an equally short walk to the cross country ski runs and hiking trails. There is a ski storage room. A good restaurant with very good Thuringian cuisine is only 2 houses away if your legs get heavy in the evening.

We had a family room divided into two rooms which was great. The bathroom has also been recently refurbished and is very nice. The breakfast is more than enough and the location of the guesthouse is very good and quiet. One walked to the city center in 10 minutes. The fridge in front of the breakfast room was also great, you could buy something to drink from for cheap money.

The accommodation was decorated in a nice rustic style and the room was beautifully clean. The breakfast was very rich.

Super nice host couple, always ready to help. A minor problem was fixed immediately. A special charm from the rustic entrance area and modernized rooms. The rooms are relatively large for a guest house and interestingly also decorated in different but well coordinated themes. There is even a blue "dark blue room" for seaside lovers. The accommodation is recommended, the "father of the hostel" is very good! The interior is clean and functional, there is a refrigerator in the hallway with soft drinks (including beer) for little money. A very good breakfast was enough for all tastes. Nothing was missed even if there were no 8 different types of bread in the basket. Fulfillment of special requests was also great. So we ordered a pack of hiking snacks and took everything with us, regardless of whether the next potion was opened. Nothing prevented us from having a picnic on the most beautiful viewpoints. We loved the large rooms, the newly refurbished large bathrooms and the kettle in the room.

Stayed at the Haus am Waldesrand for a week. The hosts really want to please the guests, which touched us very much, because they are probably already of retirement age and (forced) to do everything on their own. The home and breakfast room are lovingly decorated with many small accessories. We were upstairs (you can only get there by stairs) in a large room. There was plenty of storage space and a modern LED TV. To our satisfaction, Wi-Fi was also included in the price. If you look into other rooms, they are all equipped in the same way. The breakfast was great for us. The coffee tasted good and the egg for breakfast was always freshly made. We haven't missed anything. - We thank the spouses and wish them all the best!

Beautiful old villa with charm, very pleasant, quiet room with a well equipped bathroom. The breakfast is very varied, very good coffee / tea and, among other things, very good muesli and, among other things, fruits, berries in small sealed glasses (Covid!). Very attractive. Of particular note is the soy milk offer (upon prior request), which other hotels in Rennsteig have not been able to make. Also recommended for vegans!

You can feel comfortable here. If you enter a corridor for the first time, which seems a little old, you will be pleasantly surprised when you find yourself in a very large, bright and lovingly furnished room. The brand new bathroom is very well equipped. Everywhere you will see how the operators are trying to keep up with the times. From sockets with USB plugs, thanks to the possibility of safely parking bicycles and charging e-bikes to an oil supermarket, your stay will be especially pleasant. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty, tea and coffee are served just now. We had good days here!

The name "Haus am Waldesrand" fits perfectly, the guesthouse is located on the edge of the forest and therefore on the outskirts of Oberhof in a very quiet location. The rooms are cozy and clean. The breakfast is just great. The owner is very attentive and friendly.

My single room was a bit worse than the double room my friends brought with them. In particular the bed and mattress were not very comfortable - everything else was ok.
