The location is beautiful, we experienced an impressive sunset on the evening of arrival. We immediately got into conversation with the landlords Bea and Rocco, they respond to the wishes of their guests and are very helpful. In the herb garden we were able to harvest valuable supplements for self-sufficiency.
There is hardly anything to complain about when you consider the condition of the farm not even ten years ago. Unfortunately we couldn't see the bread oven in action because it's only fired up twice a year. However, it is also a complex action that cannot be completed in one day, which we did not know.
During our bike tour of Berlin and Usedom, Kastanienhof was by far the most enjoyable place to stay! Very friendly hosts, peaceful atmosphere, great house and beautiful garden, well equipped kitchen, lovely dog... If you don't expect 5 star comfort and want a non-casual accommodation, this is the place for you.
Great location, friendly owner, will help in all situations. Very quiet place, surrounded by nature. It's great that you could cook yourself.
In the kitchen, it was not so clearly regulated who owns which products and who should wash which dishes.
The farm is located on the outskirts of a pretty little village. The house and yard are designed with love and invite you to linger. The owners are warm and relaxed and the dog is very sweet, well behaved and so sweet. The rooms are individually and comfortably furnished. In the large kitchen and beautiful living room, you will quickly make contact with the hosts and other guests. The bike paths around Anklam are quite sunny and sometimes very bumpy. I can recommend the adventurous river scenery for boat trips of all kinds and for shopping at the health food store (with a bistro) in Lipnov.
beautiful courtyard renovated with love to detail, idyllic location and heavenly peace that spreads! we really liked that we can move freely and relaxed around the territory and around the house. so many memories of holidays with grandma and grandpa! plus happy young people wwoofing there. we must return!
...wish we could only stay one night!
- it is completely unacceptable that, upon arrival, the biting dog announced at the gate of the courtyard should be overcome, it can move freely around the building and has access to open rooms, from which we must choose one according to the message. (Apparently there are not many guests wandering there) - we left the accommodation in a hurry and were looking for something else
I booked 2 nights out of 10 and then looked for another accommodation. Reasons: very cold, no closet, only 3 hangers in the closet, bed sheets are clean, but the blankets and pillows are very old fashioned and smelly. Windows could not be opened, no mosquito net. Shared kitchen: All utensils that need to be used had to be washed first. Dishes and kitchen towels are heavily soiled. Luckily we had towels with us, there was a fridge but it was not clean. The kitchen with inventory must be carefully cleaned. The shower down around (the frame) is moldy. Neither radio nor TV is available. The owner still has a lot to learn. The word host consists of ; Guest and giving means to be polite. A person should feel welcome. The two of us, aged 70 and 73, were graciously allowed to drive into the yard to unload. We can compromise on comfort, but not on cleanliness and hygiene. The room shown online did not match what the host had assigned us. In fact, 2/3 of the cost of the booking must be transferred back. Might bite my ass that I paid straight away via paypal on booking. For 10 nights 381.00 euros. Then we found housing (apartment) on the spot for less money. With very nice home people where we felt very comfortable. Too bad we wasted money. Christopher and Christine
Kastanienhof is an old estate in a remote location. Anyone who chooses Kastanienhof cannot expect much comfort or a castle. The owner of the house, a pretty young woman, and her partner have been trying to revive this estate since 2013. If you like idyllic country life, peace and quiet, you can relax here for a few days. Workers are also welcome. Since we were only there for the night, the accommodation suited us. The rooms are decorated in the style of the early 1960s. However, they do not have a private bathroom and a separate toilet. They are only available to all guests. In addition, it is impossible not to mention the shepherd Ronny. The dog that could growl and bark when we arrived is an incredibly cute animal. He allows himself to be stroked, and if you call him by his first name, he is very friendly.
We liked the environmental aspect. We felt like we were transported back in time when we were guests of our grandparents on a rural farm.
Very quiet location and exceptional accommodation with lovely details.

Beautiful quiet location, beautiful garden, designed outdoor area and nicely decorated bathroom!
The shared kitchen is too small if all tenants want to have breakfast or dinner. Especially during the Corona.
Finally, no cheap hardware store and Ikea ingredients, but lots of original material and a workshop of beautiful old things. If you can adjust to a little comfort and like old stuff, you will enjoy your stay. It is clean and has everything you need in a good place to stay.
Nothing!
Nice welcome from owner
The feeling of construction throughout the yard, one bathroom for all rooms (no windows). Even the bed linen is folded like “furniture”. A case for individualists.
Very nice owners.
A very special and beautiful place to stay, but definitely not suitable for everyone. If you have no problems with a shared bathroom or a shared toilet and prefer naturalness, environmental friendliness and "rural" life, then here you are in good hands. Guests can use a shared kitchen with all utensils.
The accommodation is very remote, there is no way to go shopping or eat, but you just need to know this in advance so that you can bring everything with you.
Great courtyard, in the center. A good alternative to other hotels if you like a quieter, more personalized alternative. Wonderful owners, with great enthusiasm who made their dream of independent life in the village come true! You should definitely end the evening with a glass of wine on the "beach" (a small pond).
The mattresses could be more comfortable (a little more complicated). However, we are also very spoiled when it comes to our sleeping rug at home. 😄
Very nice hosts, great atmosphere and you can relax a bit back to nature. Don't forget the friendly dog.
Beautiful old farmhouse in lovely surroundings, pleasant hosts, remembering what you really need
A special place, very personal and radiates Love and Peace. Clean and functional for self-service, including country air.
Very pleasant owners who go out of their way to renovate and renovate this beautiful property in a very beautiful, quiet location. Peace, nature and nice people.
I think you can put up with this, I found that toilets take some getting used to as they need to be improved and made cleaner.
Very nice host, great food ... Load to cook! Very cozy !! Great yard!
Very nice people, the dog is very nice, the landscape is fantastic. All in all, simple and normal, if you love the simple life this is the place for you.
It is an old country house with a beautiful garden. The rooms are lovingly furnished, you can tell how much work has gone into the details. We spent a day there because of the rain and you could use the time to relax with lots of games and cozy seating. The kitchen is very well equipped.
A special place with special charisma
The rooms are simple.
A beautiful place to stay!
The dog was very friendly and always greeted us with joy.
I've never felt so uncomfortable in one place. Notes are everywhere, in the bathroom, asking that the toilet paper not roll into the bathroom on its own, but bring it with you. She got up the courage to use the toilet brush, although she apparently never, or very rarely, saw one. You have to use everything in the kitchen, but remember to pay. There were old carpets everywhere, probably dirty. It smelled strange and tasteless. Dead bugs in front of the bed and cobwebs everywhere. The sheets are clean, but a hodgepodge. There was a beautiful area with dovecote and other homemade seating. Unfortunately, upon completion, they looked like they were on their own. Partially sunken or overgrown. It wasn't much fun staying anywhere. We almost never saw the home team, but we always had the feeling that we were being watched. We left two nights later. We have to ask the lady of the house if we can get some of the money back. But then we didn't see them at all. The house is definitely not recommended. Very sorry....

Nice new experience.
An extraordinary place with great people! It is very inspiring to take a moment away from everyday life! Many thanks! Despite only one night, we really enjoyed it!
homeowner and farm
An original historic building with atmosphere, fantasy and a warm oven in the kitchen. We managed to get there after a very hard rainy day on bikes and had everything we needed: hairdryer, warm shower, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and even a bowl of warm soup. Great place, nice people. Recommended for those who love an idyllic atmosphere.
The courtyard and living quarters were simple, partly built in the house, but the rooms were clean despite their simplicity, as were the bathrooms. The beds were fitted with very good mattresses, it was just great that you could put in all the simplicity This farm can only be recommended to people who do not need all the useless luxury.
Peace of mind, custom design
Everything
Great location for people looking for peace and quiet. Atmospheric house, quiet area, very nice owners. I recommend!
The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Anyone who wants to experience farm life, nature and natural life with animals like in the 50s is obligated to stay there overnight. Back to basics!
Everything is fine and as expected. Would stay here again anytime. Beatrice and Rocco are very cute! Thanks for all!
Everything worked out great. We were greeted very warmly and felt as if we were at the house of friends who are on vacation themselves. We were able to use the well-equipped communal kitchen, rooms and beautiful garden with complete confidence, and we even got fresh eggs and peaches from the garden. Many thanks to Bea and Rocco. We will be happy to return.
The farm has been carefully and ecologically valuable restored, the work has not yet been completed. The animals made this experience unique, our son especially liked the farm dog. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need to eat. The common rooms are lovingly furnished. Basic cleanliness is good, but it always depends on the other guests.
Unfortunately the duvets were feather beds and the pillows were full of feathers. The mattresses were probably a little older, unfortunately we had to contend with dust mite allergies while sleeping.
nothing
Everything
Nice, quiet place. Eco-friendly, gentle home renovation creates a noticeably pleasant living environment that has a beneficial effect on deep sleep phases. An uncomplicated community that gives a lot of freedom.
The slightly assembled interior and living quarters, which are very dusty due to construction work, seem more improvised than creative. Anyone who knows self-catering homes and has experience of living together in an apartment should have no problem with the concept of a home.
Everything was there, but no more than the minimum. Here the bill will be for everyone who loves the Spartan life.
Access to housing is a huge challenge for a 30-year-old car (GDR).
Berlin welcomes Kagendorf (Noah Kosenov)! We stayed at the Kastanienhof for three nights in June and were very satisfied. We knew this was not a 5 star holiday apartment. But the Kastanienhof offers not only a cozy and clean room, but also a clean rural idyll, tranquility and closeness to nature, thanks to the large courtyard still under construction and all kinds of poultry are bred. The listed dovecote in the middle of the courtyard is very impressive and crowded. As we were the only guests, we were only able to use the rustic and artistic common rooms on the top floor. The rooms are also on the top floor and all have a certain vintage charm. The kitchen offers all the possibilities for self-catering. The artisan and creative owner of the house showed us all the essentials, even fresh chicken eggs. Really personable, Bee exudes warmth and competence + persistence in the development of the farm, this also applies to her partner, whom we also met. Here you can feel the desire to organize life in harmony with nature. The promoted motto is: "Don't dream of your life, live your dream." here it gets brighter and gives food for thought. The environment is magical and invites you for long walks. By the way, you can also take a quick excursion to Usedom Island and swim in the Baltic Sea, weather permitting. It is about 53 km to the beach at Bansin. If you need a break from work and rest or maybe you want to write a book, you can try it here :-)). Free Wi-Fi is a good prerequisite for communicating with the world. The Kastanienhof is a good recommendation for people who do not consider luxury a 5-star accommodation, but rather closeness to nature. Thank you for understanding a beautiful, yes, alternative life model. Cherry, Berlin, June 27, 2019
no complaints, even the weather.
