Nice place for short stay with good breakfast with moderate price/quality.
The "Historical Wassermühle" is a nice quiet location with a collection of buildings that make an authentic impression but were not originally on this location. The Wassermühle is located in the middle of the village of Birgen, where there is not much to do outside of the nice Biergarten. the area.The breakfast was quite good, the only thing we missed was a bit of fresh fruit.
The Biergarten is also a nice place but it took about 45 minutes before we got the ordered food even though it wasn't very busy.

A different kind of hotel in a quiet location
rustic property that has been restored with a lot of heart very individual, we had an apartment in a historic building that would have been suitable for a longer stay. Many home-made products are offered for breakfast.
Our apartment was on two floors with a steep staircase - be aware that some rooms have very low doors and also beams. The very tasty breakfast is served in the fairly dark ballroom.

A real highlight for a short vacation!
Due to the extremely hospitable, almost family atmosphere, we were able to relax so well that we "fell" into deep relaxation 😉. We enjoyed the ambience, the quiet location and the delicious food, but also the always friendly, always tireless and lovely employees of the mill, including the owner Erwin, made our short break a special experience. The mill tour on the last day was another very nice highlight. Thank you, we will definitely be back!
There was nothing we didn't like. Maybe one thing: that the weekend was over way too quickly 😉

We have been to the DTM at the Nürburgring and will stay here again next time.
The breakfast was very plentiful and prepared with love. The accommodation is very quiet. We had a hotel room booked, we even had an apartment. There is a small menu in the beer garden. The meat is simply delicious and highly recommended

Great and quirky accommodation with warm and very dedicated hosts.
The entire ensemble of the historic water mill was built and designed with great love. Upon entering the two apartments, we were very happy due to the size and the great half-timbered atmosphere. We work here with great dedication, heart and soul. We are happy to recommend it and would love to return.
Unfortunately the restaurant was not open after the flood, but this is a work in progress and we look forward to testing it out at some point.

An extraordinary little paradise in the Eiffel
Almost everything else, very friendly, uncomplicated staff, great atmosphere and delicious food in the beer garden, unusual location with its own character.
Complaint at a very high level, I would like to stay in apartments closer to the river. The walls in Daniela's room were a little noisy.

The ancient flavor, which has been preserved throughout the territory and in the buildings. Large car park, very friendly staff and owner, very nice and humane. Gladly again.
It was always cold in the room itself, in the corridor, and it was not warming up in the bathroom either. The small heater just couldn't do it.

We wanted to spend a romantic weekend and let the photos tempt us to stay. It was a very good decision, we felt completely at ease. Everything was simple and beautiful. The room was equipped with everything necessary, there was even a home umbrella. We arrived early in the morning and could still choose from the lunch menu. The food was delicious. Thus strengthened, we explored the beautiful surroundings. The morning breakfast was plentiful. So the stay at the mill was comprehensive, harmonious and enjoyable, which we can only warmly recommend.

Disappointing but did my best.
The food was very good but overpriced. The complex of buildings with all the mills and half-timbered houses is very beautiful. The tour of all the mills and the surrounding area was very interesting and exciting.
Our room was located in an adjacent building, which made a very good impression from the outside and further exacerbated our disappointment with our room. The bed was uncomfortable and squeaked so loudly that it woke me up. I had to take a shower in the dark because the light didn't get there. In short, the rooms were not up to date. The men's toilet in the restaurant was underground, the smell was unbearable and the sink was like a barn (the hose is like a tap!). If you want to pay separately together, you must say this BEFORE ordering, otherwise the boss will be sloppy.

Excellent restored half-timbered houses. Delicious breakfast buffet. And the dinner at the restaurant was just great.

Have a nice day and evening in a cozy atmosphere with a very friendly boss and staff.
I liked the tour of the mill. The various factories, with their very old inventory, were interesting and exciting. We found the equipment and decoration of the main restaurant very cozy and homey, as well as the vaulted cellar where breakfast is served. Breakfast and dinner are not bad.

You should have done it.
The location is very good for hiking, there is love for detail and passion behind it all. The mill is very interesting to see, you should definitely take a tour.

Perfect
The atmosphere, the courteous and friendly staff impressed us. This was followed by a very tasty meal, foreshadowed by free liquor and served by smart and very good service. Interesting collection of cutters. We will be back because there is so much more to discover and enjoy. The mill operator runs everything here out of his own conviction, with enthusiasm, and you can feel it.

Old furniture, the charm of a historic water mill is missing even though the reception area was nicely decorated. We lived in an old building. Broken sink, dirty and not even cozy light.

Nice detached accommodation with delicious food
Delicious food, suite in one of the half-timbered houses, pleasant tour of the water mill, friendly host.
When we saw the prices of the accommodation itself, it turned out that through booking.com we started looking more expensive. The room was less suitable for tall people (> 1.80m) due to the different low beams, although it did have some humor.

The relief is very well worked out. You feel like in an open-air museum. The apartment in an old half-timbered house is incredibly spacious and unique. The food was delicious. All the staff are very nice and warm. We were very comfortable.
The mill area is a dream come true. All this in the fresh air, and not in the middle of the place would be the top.

Dinner and breakfast are very good. Very personal and friendly service.
We were very disappointed with the two hotel rooms. Dirt, mold in the bathroom, no shower utensils. The rooms were more like a trash can.

Sensational and unique.
Breakfast is ok, the location is good - you can't get out into the city, the curbs are raised at 10 am. However, everything was fine on the territory of the mill, including food. The tour of the existing factories was sensational. I will be back and then with all my friends.
You can't lie on the couch, too little. :-)

It is worth seeing the object
From the outside, the building is worth seeing and is in very good condition. Everything inside was also very clean.
I hadn't seen any pictures before and booked a suite. It was an apartment with a kitchen, dining room and living room. For us (2 people) and two days are completely superfluous. I'd rather book a normal room. Since the house is very old, apart from the bathroom (new), the rooms were definitely worthy of one or the other too. For my taste ... but it definitely depended on me. The complex itself was a highlight that made up for its placement.

The historic watermill is ideal for a short break in the Eiffel.
The owner and staff's extraordinary passion for the mills and the hotel is reflected throughout the hotel. The lovingly groomed atmosphere is mesmerizing. Homemade products are served for breakfast in the rustic basement. If this is not enough for you, you can buy something to take home at the farm's store. Dinner at the former sawmill is a real treat. We were the first, but not the last, and we recommend a visit to all explorers of the Eiffel.

The hospitality, the reception of homemade liquor, the passion with which Erwin realized this project, the personal presence of the owners. Our bicycles can be stored inside.
The hotel room was across the street in a not so pretty building. Huge ugly parking lots. The village of Birgel has nothing to do with it.

Original apartment in a half-timbered house! (Unlike hotel rooms!) Restaurant and breakfast room were great! The service is super friendly! Excellent breakfast buffet! The reception ladies are very friendly! Thanks again "TANJA"!
HOTEL ROOM NOT RECOMMENDED! Outside! Very very small, uncomfortable and musty! The price is in no way suitable compared to the apartment!

The apartments / houses are quite noisy. Something could be done about it
