The atmosphere of Carlos' house is great: an old villa with a lot of charm and lots of vegetation. Day and night we could watch several animals: sloths, toucans, scarlet macaws, monkeys, frogs, toads, olingos, woolly opossums, not to mention Carlos' adorable dogs! Also, the breakfast is wonderful and the place where we have breakfast is very charming!

Mare Nostrum is unique and was our best place to stay in the Czech Republic. Carlos is a very attentive host and gave us very helpful tips. The rooms are beautifully furnished with expensive furniture with great attention to detail. The view of the dreamy garden is unique. The pool is located downstairs in a beautiful garden (looks like a jungle). Here you can have a great rest. The breakfast was the best we had. Tea or coffee, freshly squeezed odaft, homemade cakes, lots of fruits and eggs to choose from. From the breakfast room you can also see the old trees in the garden. Air can only warmly recommend the hotel. The hotel alone is already worth the trip. as it is an exceptionally beautiful building in colonial style.

Excellent treatment, full breakfast

The house is a replica of an old colonial house. The decor is unique (stylish/rustic) with lots of old furniture and interesting, sometimes strange artifacts. In the natural garden (with jungle character) around the beautiful pool, there are many old trees that are visited by toucans, parrots and squirrel monkeys. In the shade of these tall trees, like in the jungle, it can be quite damp during the rainy season, and the stairs leading to the pool quickly become covered with moss. High humidity is also a problem in the home, so rooms and bedding are aired daily. There was no dampness or mustiness in our room. The place is absolutely quiet, apart from nightly frog concerts and other animal sounds such as bats inhabiting the roof farm. Buses to Manuel Antonio National Park and Quepos stop nearby. Our room, with great pool and garden views, was very clean and spacious, with a comfortable four-poster bed, wardrobe, efficient and quiet air conditioning, and a fridge. The shower worked great, towels were changed every day and sheets on the second day. Carlos the host was very kind and friendly and his breakfast was amazing with cakes and a huge portion of fruit. Given the high price level at Manuel Antonio, the price is reasonable.

Casa Hotel Mare Nostrvm is located in an old colonial house. The decor is very tasteful and the Christmas decorations are amazing. Air conditioning (also needed) works great. The house is so close to the road that you can easily walk to the bus and drive to Manuel Antonio/beach etc but far enough away to be very nice and quiet. You have a very nice view of the pool and the countryside from your room and from the breakfast room. In the morning/afternoon you can watch the monkeys or listen to the howler monkeys. We felt very comfortable here. Carlos is also a big contributor to this, he is very sweet, helpful and gives great advice. The breakfast is excellent and very rich.

As soon as you open the gate, the atmosphere is created as if we were at home. Our host Carlos welcomes us with kindness, discretion and simplicity. Early in the morning to start the day, a plate of fruit, small coconut cakes, scrambled eggs, buttered toast, orange juice, coffee or tea will make this breakfast delicious. Thanks again to Carlos.

A rich and varied breakfast, Carlos is very attentive to his customers and I would be happy to return. Manuel Antonio Park is a short bus ride away, and the bus stop is 100 meters from Carlos's house. Everything for a pleasant stay, do not hesitate

The location is in the middle of nature, close to everything and at the same time in a quiet and very pleasant place. If you are looking for tranquility and feel truly at home, this is your home! Informal, peaceful, very special from an aesthetic point of view, with exquisite details such as the railing of the stairs leading to the pool and the water lily fountain ... among many others. We stayed 3 nights, 4 days, advice from Carlos (bus and leave the car there, restaurants for dinner, guide to the Antonio nature reserve ... everything was the best option. Carlos is a special host, he is respectful and friendly, leaving the decision to the discretion of the guest This was the best place on our Costa Rica tour, we will definitely return and I recommend it.

Breakfast was very good and complete, very rich coconut bread! The pool is great, beautiful even if there was no interior lighting at night, haha ​​we used it anyway. Also on our last day we wanted to go to the beach before leaving and there was no problem leaving our belongings in the room and returning to the shower after checking in. This is an incredible place, surrounded by lots of greenery and with a dream pool, the rooms are very comfortable, spacious, tidy and clean. However, the best thing is Carlos, he accepted us and helped us with everything we asked for, he is a very warm and kind person, I wish there were more places like this in Costa Rica that save the Costa Rican architecture. 100% recommended ps: Breakfast is a delicacy :)
