After Baku I wanted to have a rest at the sea, we found a house in Sumgait not far from the beaches. The owner meets - Rashat, he has two houses for guests and his own in the middle. We had our own garden-vegetable garden, which we regularly watered. All you need for life is cleanliness and comfort, the house accommodated 5 adults and a child. In the evening, vegetables, mullet, lamb and chickens are all on the grill, in the afternoon there are excursions and the sea. There are seven beaches to choose from, and maybe more, there is a water park at the hotel 3 km away. The beach is his own boss, there are almost no vacationers. Eat and drink at the cafes' beaches - everything is delicious. The owner has his own farm, therefore: milk, eggs, cheese, kefir are all fresh in the morning. Rashat - thank you for your hospitality, I liked everything very much.
pros Friendly and very helpful owner (once he treated us to a barbecue - Rashad, thank you, it was very tasty! 40 minutes). At a reasonable price, you can buy fresh dairy products (milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese) from the owner. For a comfortable stay, everything is there (bed linen, towels, stove, dishes, refrigerator, washing machine). If something is missing, then at the request of the owner will immediately resolve the situation. The villa, of course, is a very loud name, rather a cottage or an outbuilding, I would call it. Nevertheless, the house is cozy and modern. There is Wi-Fi, the TV is working (we did not look for Russian channels, we had enough music - we found Azerbaijani MTV ) About the sea - the sea is not far (10-15 minutes at a slow pace). On weekdays it is completely deserted and very cool! On weekends, we were simply stunned by the number of people (apparently, the townspeople come to rest, because you can't swim in Sumgait near the gorgeous embankment). The sea is shallow, but exciting, with a slight breeze it was sometimes even scary to go further than waist-deep. We did not find any rescuers, so be more careful and careful. There are many cafes along the coast, everything is delicious everywhere (we especially recommend kutabs and lahmajuns). There are also grocery stores there. But it's better to go to the supermarket by bus 2 Once we went to Sumgait - bus 40 or 545. The city is very green. We started our route from the Palace of Chemists (we were very lucky with a security guard, showed us everything, even turned on the lights) and Heydar Aliyev Park, then a museum (apparently local history, we decided not to enter), 1941-1945 monument, and went to Nasimi Park and the dove of peace - Goyarchin - the symbol of the city of Sumgait, and then to the embankment - it is huge and wide, a place for rest of the townspeople, in the evening it is very crowded
Minuses Chumazenko on the street everywhere. But the most annoying thing is disgusting on the shore - after the weekend rest there were just heaps of garbage on the sand and in the water (plastic and glass bottles, stubs, even diapers ... in general, some kind of seams! There is no leisure at all. Travel only with a company. Don't expect a noisy Russian Black Sea vacation, let alone a Turkish or European one. It is very calm and atmospheric here. And despite the disadvantages, we recommend you go and enjoy the wonderful Caspian Sea and wonderful Azerbaijan! What we managed to see Baku: Day 1 - Old town of Icheri-Sheher (palace of the Shirvanshahs, Maiden Tower, workshop of the artist Ali Shamsi, museum of miniature books and small streets ..., of course "chort take"))), observation deck near the park of martyrs (martyrs are heroes, martyrs for faith, but in our understanding the word has a negative connotation) Day 2 - Absheron Peninsula - Ateshtyag - temple of fire worshipers, Gala museum complex, defensive fortress in Mardakan, burning Yanardag mountain Day 3 - Gobustan, mud volcanoes and Bibi Heybat mosque Day 4 - Maraza (Deri Baba mausoleum), Shemakha (Juma mosque and mausoleums), the village of masters Lahich and simply gorgeous views along the way Day 5 - Northern Baku - Heydar Aliyev center, embankment, Baku Venice, carpet museum
